« Why we have too few women leaders »

I do not if you know Sheryl Sandberg, she is the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook. Sheryl is an American technology executive, activist, and author. In June 2012, she was elected to the board of directors by the existing board members, becoming the first woman to serve on Facebook’s board. Before she joined Facebook as its COO, Sheryl worked for Google.

In 2012, she was named in the Time 100, an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine.

Today, I would like to share with you a very interesting and inspirational video I got during my EMBA leadership classes. It is from a TEDwomen a three-day conference about the power of women and girls to be creators and change-makers.

The title of Sheryl ‘s talk is : « Why we have too few women leaders ». Sheryl shared her view on « the why » through 3 points :

  • Women should sit « at the table »
  • Women should make her partner a real partner
  • Women should not leave before leave

By clicking on the below link, you can listen to this 14 minutes video…until the end 😉

A last point and maybe an advice, even if a woman fights to reach the top, a great thing is not to become a man-like manager, keep your differences 🙂 and unique women’s skills ->more empathy, care more, less self centered.
